Quilting Services Offered

As a child, I grew up with a mom who sewed almost all of our clothes. All of my dresses, yes,​ I wore dresses to school until I was in the ninth grade, were either made by moms, or my grandmother. My first award ever was a long dress, which was made with some fabric my neighbors brought back from Hawaii. I had to hand-sew lace from the top of the long split sleeve, all the way to the bottom, around, and back up again. Have I mentioned that I absolutely HATE to do hand-stitching? I blame it all on that dress. Well, there was a lot of discussion from the judges panel as to whether or not I had completed that entire dress on my own. There were a few nay-sayers which tried to say that my mom had done a lot of it. She did not do anything but tell me if my seams were not straight enough, to rip it out. If I did not do something that she felt was good enough, to re-do it. I also learned from mom to press all seams and clip all threads. I ended up winning that Dress Revue, not because my mom made any part of the dress, but because of the lessons she taught me while making it.
I think I became a quilter because of the potential to go my own way, create my own designs and use such unique pallets of color. I love designing, building, and creating, until the final product is finished. As I learned from my mom, I am my worst critic, which in the long run is good. I will rip out, until I am happy.
